Indianapolis police are investigating several shootings that took place primarily in the early hours of the New Year, which left three people dead from separate shootings.

Shortly after 1 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a call of a person shot at 3100 block of Boulevard Place near the city’s northside. They discovered a man, who has yet to be identified, with gunshot injuries. The victim was transported to a hospital where he later died.

In a separate incident, IMPD officers responded to a report of a vehicle crash at Michigan Road and Grandview Drive just before 6 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a man and a woman inside a pickup off the roadway with bodily trauma that was further investigated and determined to be gunshot wounds, according to police. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Marion County Coroner's office will release the identities of the deceased after families are notified.

In two separate incidents, victims walked into Indy area hospitals with gunshot injuries. Around 1:30 a.m., a 39-year-old man entered Eskenazi Hospital. The incident may have occurred near 16th Street and Tibbs Avenue, IMPD said.

Around that same time, a 23-year-old man walked into Ascension St. Vincent Hospital with gunshot wounds. Both men are in stable condition.

Just before 3 a.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot at 500 N Moreland Ave. close to the city's westside. They discovered a 21-year-old man with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

In the city's far northwest side outside of Eagle Creek, IMPD officers answered a call around 3:30 a.m. at the block of 6400 Maidstone Road, where they found an 18-year-old man with gunshot injuries. He was in serious but stable condition, police said.
