Trump leads Biden in seven key battleground states; scores points on the economy

WASHINGTON — Former President Donald Trump is leading in key states in the 2024 race, with a new poll showing President Joe Biden trailing behind him in seven key battleground states.

The Bloomberg News/Morning Consult Pro survey released Thursday shows Trump leading Biden in North Carolina by 11 points, Georgia by seven points, Wisconsin by six points, Nevada by five points, Michigan by four points, Arizona by three points and Pennsylvania by one point.

The candidates listed in the poll included Trump, Biden and third-party candidates including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cornel West and Jill Stein.

The poll also gave respondents an opportunity to list another candidate, answer “don’t know/no opinion” or say they won’t vote.

With the third-party candidates removed, Biden still trailed Trump in each state.

The survey also found that six in ten voters in each swing state listed the economy and healthcare as “very” important in deciding who they would vote for in 2024.

Though Trump had a lead on the economy, Biden leads the former president on healthcare in five of the seven key states.

The survey was conducted from Nov. 27 to Dec. 6 and has a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
