Zach Edey is the Purdue basketball center and 2022-23 consensus National Player of the Year. The 7-foot-4 senior entered the 2023-24 season with 1,533 career points (23rd in Boilermakers history), 847 rebounds (9th) and 148 blocked shots (8th).
The 21-year-old played for the bronze medal-winning Canadian national team in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, and was the Big Ten Player of the Year and conference tournament MVP in '23.

Edey explored the NBA Draft process in 2023 before deciding to return to Purdue. Because almost all his shots are at the basket and never shoots 3-pointers, he is not considered a top NBA prospect. An early mock draft puts him at No. 57 of 58 picks.
Who much NIL money does Zach Edey make?
The 21-year-old Edey is in the United States on a F-1 visa, which allows a person to study at a university for a certain period. It also means that Edey can't get paid from any NIL deals unless he is physically in his home country.
During Purdue's trip to Canada in December, Edey teamed up with Daps on a name, image, and likeness deal.
While the opportunity to put some extra coin in his pocket is appealing, Edey didn't consider it a big deal.
"Not particularly," Edey told USA TODAY Sports. "But now that I am getting paid, thinking back on it, it was ridiculous that we weren't getting paid. At the time, the only thing I was focused on was my basketball, as it is now."
