STARTERS
∎ Jahmyl Telfort: He made clutch shots late in regulation, with a corner 3 giving Butler an 83-81 lead with 28.6 seconds left. A 3 with 3:20 left in overtime gave the Bulldogs the lead for good at 88-86. He finishes with 26 points and also has seven assists and five rebounds. He was one of several Bulldogs to lose track of Chance McMillan, who hit 8-of-10 3-pointers. Rating: 8.0
∎ Jalen Thomas: As usual, he does a lot of dirty work near the basket (8 rebounds), and his two assists are important: one for Telfort's go-ahead 3 with 28.6 seconds left in regulation and another to break a Texas Tech zone by passing to Connor Turnbull for a corner 3. He scores two points before fouling out early in overtime. Rating: 5.5
∎ D.J. Davis: He was aggressive offensively, but not always wise with his decisions (three turnovers, or tough-to-handle passes that result in others' turnovers). And he had his hands full defending Texas Tech's guards (Pop Isaacs had 18 points). However, he hit three 3-pointers and 10 free throws, ensuring Butler's win, on his way to 25 points. Rating: 6.5
∎ Posh Alexander: He finishes with a triple-double (10 points, 11 assists, 9 rebounds), but his Texas Tech counterpart, Joe Touissant, has 20 points, 12 assists and three steals. Alexander hit just 2-of-10 from the field and had three turnovers. It seems insane for a triple-double, but ... Rating: 6.5
∎ Pierre Brooks II: Coming in as Butler's leading scorer, he was relatively quiet, but had an efficient 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field. Rating: 6.0
BENCH
∎ Andre Screen: He was on the receiving end of a lot of strong drives and passes, going 7-of-8 from the field, and he grabbed six rebounds. Rating: 8.5
∎ Connor Turnbull: He played little after halftime. In the first half, he hit a corner 3 to break a Texas Tech zone and tipped an inbounds pass off the inbounder. He also lost a defensive assignment, leading to foul against Jalen Thomas at the rim. Rating: 5.0
∎ Landon Moore: He played little after halftime. In the first half, he was 1-of-3 from 3-point range, committed a foul late in the shot clock that bailed out Texas Tech and made a pass to Jalen Thomas for a missed 3-pointer when Pierre Brooks II was open in the corner for a 3. Rating: 4.5
∎ Finley Bizjack: He played briefly in the first half. Rating: N/A
