Pat McAfee posts he has no interest in politics on his ESPN show
Pat McAfee has no interest in being a political commentator.
The former Indianapolis Colts punter and ESPN talk show host sought to clear up recent controversies regarding his show with a Wednesday night social post.
"I haven’t polled our crowd but I’m rather certain that nobody’s wanting to come hangout with us to hear us talk about politics," read part of the post. "I think it’s probably a massive reason for our success actually… so all of this has been a good reminder of what we’re good for, and who we’re good for. Some day, I’ll try and build up enough of a brain to dive into the politics world but that time is nowhere near now.."
McAfee has hosted New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Tuesdays through the NFL season, and Rodgers' appearance this week veered into the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccines. Rodgers questions a lot about vaccines.
Rodgers also addressed the connection he made a week earlier between late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel and deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

McAfee said Rodgers has no more scheduled appearances on the show because the Jets' season is over. However, McAfee said Rodgers is in no way banned.
"I never said he’ll never be on the show again," McAfee said. "I hope he chooses to still chat with us.''
Last week, McAfee discussed what he considers "sabotage" of his show from some in ESPN management.
On top of all that, McAfee was a major portion of ESPN's coverage of the college football national championship between Michigan and Washington.
The year is barely 10 days in and he's been busy.
"I certainly don’t love that I’ve found myself in political wars and public beefs because of something that a guest has said on our show or something that my dumbass has said.. including a lawsuit that was VERY public.. but I think what I’ve come to realize is that it’s gonna come with the territory of this venture," McAfee added. "We are much more aware of that now. And, for the good of our lives, happiness, and mana 🤙🏼.. we’re gonna try and avoid as many as possible."
