Plainfield will soon open its new performing arts center, Hendricks Live!, and details on the new venue's first run of shows were released Tuesday morning.

The 600-seat theater's first national act will be '00s-era singer-songwriter Five For Fighting alongside a string quartet on April 5.

As part of its opening festivities, Indianapolis cover band My Yellow Rickshaw will play March 9, and the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra will perform March 17. Both concerts will have $10 tickets.

Tickets for all events will go on sale at 9 a.m. Friday through hendrickslive.org.

Hendricks Live! will also host a series of guided tours of the new event space at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on March 8, 9, 15 and 16. A grand opening is planned for May.

The venue is located at 200 W. Main St.
